MetaTrader 4 (MT4) is a desktop trading platform developed by MetaQuotes. Despite being legacy software (newer versions are MT5), MT4 remains the most popular retail forex platform because of its enormous EA library and broker support. EAs written in MQL4 are not compatible with MT5.
